What the ACE Disability Network offers
Training and professional development on a wide range of disability issues including:
- Disability awareness
- Aged related disability
- Sport and disability awareness
- Teaching techniques to meet the needs of specific disability cohorts
- Communicating with people with disability
- Duty of care
- Disability Action Planning
- Developing learning plans for people with disability
- Working with volunteers with disability
- Induction
- Local government disability planning and local laws

Training can be conducted on provider premises or on our premises
- Self Directed Training Manual available in hard copy or electronically
- Assistance with disability action planning, advice and practical assistance to ACE providers in order to work more effectively with people with disabilities, including
- Site audits
- Resource advice
- Information sharing among ACE providers with respect to disability
- Maintenance of a comprehensive information website
- Distribution of a quarterly newsletter and tip sheets
- Research on disability and adult education
- Help line on any disability related query
- Disability related project work
- Networking with a range of other networks with the adult education and disability sectors and across government and non government areas
The ACE DisAbility Network is not government funded and therefore services will incur costs. These are kept to a minimum and are negotiable.

- information on student rights, discrimination or finding an advocate
- support to access education or community program
- advice on getting appropriate support
- help with finding a provider who offers services more suitable to your needs
The ACE DisAbility Network does not provide training for people with disability or make recommendations about appropriate courses for people with disability. Our aim is to support people with disability to access the course or activity of their choice in the same way as everyone else.
